Mika Hakkinen has re-signed to drive for Mercedes-Benz in the DTM series for a third season. The 38-year-old former World Champion retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2001 season after an 11-year career in the sport, including 20 race victories.

Marlboro is not to seen in Formula 1 this year - at least not in name. The brand remains the primary sponsor of the Ferrari F1 team, on the basis that it has established such a strong visual brand in the course of the last 10 years that people will still relate the car to Marlboro, whether the name is there or not.

Felipe Massa had a high speed crash today at the Italian track Vallelunga. The Brazilian was able to get out of the F2007 unhurt, but it looks like this week's test with Ferrari's 2007 contender is finished.

The new Red Bull RB3, the team's first design involving Adrian Newey, was unveiled this morning in Barcelona with much excitement around the project, which the team hopes will propel it into the top ranks in Formula 1.

Lewis replaces Jenson as media's darling

Red Bull unveiled its 2007 challenger to the world´s motorsport media in Barcelona on Friday morning.

Much is expected of the first Red Bull car to be designed from scratch by Adrian Newey.

At Circuit de Catalunya the Red Bull Racing team today presented their 2007 contender to the media: The RB3. Together with the team's race drivers David Coulthard and Mark Webber, test drivers Michael Ammermueller and Robert Doornbos the team showed their new car, which was designed by Adrian Newey.

Some teams have been putting in the kilometres, others have had cities at a standstill, but the Spyker F1 team has remained largely behind closed doors back at base finalising preparations for the launch of its 2007 car on Monday 5 February.
