Renault today continued testing in Valencia, in spite of unpredictable conditions that once again forced the team to adapt its technical programme. Following an installation lap when the circuit opened, the two Renaults then waited for the circuit to improve before beginning their programme. A sunny spell around 13:00 meant the track was finally good enough for meaningful running.
Fernando Alonso stayed on top of the timesheets on day two at Valencia - but only just as three of his closest rivals clawed back the first day deficit.
Renault's drivers were second and third.
On the second day of testing at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia it was once again McLaren driver Fernando Alonso who topped the times. Renault drivers Fisichella and Kovalainen followed him with a second and third time.
Renault will not purely focus on work specific to the GP weekend on revamped Fridays.
On Tuesday Mark Webber was covering the miles for Red Bull Racing at Valencia wearing a completely new white helmet. The Australian explained the helmet was a try-out for Red Bull's chief designer Adrian Newey.
