The FIA has revealed the weights of all twenty cars ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The starting weights give an indication as to the amount of fuel in the cars when they leave the pit lane to being their installation laps on Sunday, and therefore drivers often travel around to the grid slowly in order to save as much fuel as possible, and not unsettle their strategy.

The Ferrari team was relived to be back in the top ten of qualifying at Sakhir, as they continue to search for World Championship points after a terrible start to the season. The Scuderia, constructors' champions for the past two seasons, are yet to get off the mark in 2009 but are looking stronger with eighth and tenth on the grid.
