The Circuit de Catalunya presents few overtaking opportunities, particularly due to the fact that most off-season testing is done at the Catalan venue which means that teams and drivers know it well.

Max Mosley has said that a budget cap plan for Formula One has been looked at in Paris with a view to introducing the system as of next season. Original proposals suggested that competitors would be limited to spending no more than £30 million per season although the FIA president has now revealed that this amount has risen.

Due to leave Silverstone after this year, Donington Park is scheduled to be hosting the race for a decade from 2010 although, with financial worries raised, the government is now calling for a possible return to Silverstone.
