This morning at 09.00 Mika Hakkinen made his return at an official Formula 1 event. The Finn joined McLaren for a day of testing at Circuit de Catalunya to get fermiliar with a modern Formula 1 car.
Departing Bridgestone technical manager Hisao Suganuma says he won't object to the the FIA's plans to introduce a marked-tyre system for 2007. The proposal calls for softer compound tyres to be marked with a coloured stripe, so everyone can see the compound each car is using - a system currently used in the Champ Car series.
Christian Klien will be Honda's test driver in 2007. The former Red Bull Racing driver announced his signing earlier this month and had his first outing with Honda's F1 car on Wednesday. The Austrian believes Honda was his best option for 2007 even though Spyker was a good option for him too.
Renault continued its work at the Catalan circuit, concentrating on learning about the Bridgestone tyres on Wednesday and the team reported being extremely happy with the car's reliability.
The testing action continued at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona today as the Honda Racing F1 Team’s new Test & Reserve Driver Christian Klien had his first run in a Honda Formula One car.

There were many speculations in the paddock at Circuit de Catalunya about Super Aguri's car. Rumours said the car was Honda's 2006 chassis, but the Super Aguri Formula 1 team denied the rumours.
