Toyota's preparations for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix began today with an interrupted Friday of practice around the Shanghai International Circuit. The skies around the track were overcast for practice and it began to drizzle halfway into the second session. That meant that Toyota had a limited day's work on the TF106B, which features a new aerodynamic package here in China. After installation laps in the morning session, race drivers Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher brought their afternoon programmes forward and collected as much data as possible before the expected shower. Now the team will work hard overnight analysing everything to make the tyre choice for qualifying and the race.

Chinese GP - Friday Team Quotes
McLaren Mercedes drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Kimi Raikkonen finished today's second practice session in 12th and 21st positions respectively after setting times of 1m38.022 and 1m39.179. It started to rain slightly halfway through the second session. In the opening practice Pedro didn't take to the track whilst Kimi spun during his one scheduled run. In total Pedro completed nine laps and Kimi eight. As usual on a Friday both drivers focused on Michelin tyre choice and initial set-up work.
The Honda Racing F1 Team enjoyed a competitive day's running in Shanghai today as free practice got underway for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix. This morning, Anthony Davidson occupied his usual place at the sharp end of the field, ending the session in second position. This afternoon, the threat of rain came to fruition which made tyre comparisons difficult in the changeable conditions. The three drivers ended the day third, 11th and 16th.
