Alonso and Hamilton One and Two in Malaysia

April 8th, 2007

Malaysia turns out to be one of the more interesting races I’ve seen lately. From the start Lewis Hamilton once again showed that he really does belong in F1. Only his second race in F1 and he’s already showing the skill, courage and determination that makes a champion. I think he will learn much from his team mate Fernando Alonso. I just hope his determination doesn’t get him into trouble.

McLaren also seems to be back (Finally) after a long winless stint. Perhaps the combination of Fernando, Lewis and McLaren is going to be one of those magic combinations. I’ll admit it’s a little early to tell but things are looking good so far.

Massa, whom I thought would do better seems to have been bested by Lewis, It was fascinating watching his frustration at not being able to get by Hamilton slowly force him to make mistake after mistake, which he never recovered from.

Kimi put on a good push near the end. I’m sure there was some serious nail biting going on for those last few laps. In the end Lewis managed to keep it together and left Kimi with 3rd place.

Things are shaping up to be a real epic battle between McLaren and Ferrari this season, I hope things remain this competitive for the rest of the season!

Yeah…another great performance by the Brit rookie. He has the potential, and being Alonso teammates didn’t intimidate this young rookie. I’m sure they getting along pretty well - by look of it. I don’t think Alonso feel threaten by him - most probably he feel that Lewis can help him winning the title again this year by keeping Ferrari at bay.

Massa isn’t look like he’d help Kimi - in fact their rivalry can be seen in Sepang. I made a post about Lewis Hamilton at my blog here. Love to see your comment.

Since 1993 I’ve been a Michael Schumacher fan and naturally supported Ferrari when he joined them. Now I support Hamilton (though not like I did Schuey) and I find myself wanting the Ferraris beaten. Confusion reigns. Crazy world of Formula 1!
