Scott Speed Confirmed With Toro Rosso For 2007
February 24th, 2007Toro Rosso has confirmed that American driver Scott Speed will retain his seat with them for the 2007 season.
Scott got some laps in the car during testing in Bahrain on Saturday but he was the slowest of all 16 drivers there. Toro Rosso says that their three days of testing have been productive but they still have a lot to work out with the car before the first race barely three weeks away.

Scott Speed. I like the way that sounds and I like your site.
Thanks, I’m glad you like it. Please drop by as often as you wish! Tell your friends too.
And I was certain they were going to buy out Seabass’ contract from Newman-Haas. Oh well, not the first time I’ve been wrong. Now I can start predicting Seabass for 08.
I like Seabass in a Red Bull seat next year, when they fire that under performing, whining titty baby Mark Webber. Talk about unfullfilled promise and high expectations not realized.
Hmm, Seabass in a Red Bull in 08. Sounds good to me. Agreed that Webber is a waste of a seat.
I’ll be amazed if both Toro Rosso drivers make it to the end of the season. And, unfortunately, I think Speed will get the boot first.
I agree with you perkonis, I’m not sure that Speed has what it takes. I like the fact that he is a U.S. Driver, as that can only increase the interest over here in North America, but I don’t see how he is gonna shine with Toro Rosso so he might not last long.
Don’t be so hasty to write off the Toro’s just yet; Liuzzi was 9th quickest in testing today ahead of both Red Bulls, both ‘Yotas, a Honda, a BMW and a Spyker. They have a good chance to surprise this year.
