Get your name on the new Green Honda F1 Car!

Honda has unveiled their new “Green” F1 Car. It’s causing quite a stir in the F1 community for a whole bunch of reasons that I’ll get into in another post. The reason for this post is to let you know that YOU can get your name on the car!
Just head on over to www.myearthdream.com and see for yourself.
You can make a donation to a green cause and get your name on the car as described at the site ..
“By pledging to do something to help the environment and making a donation to the myearthdream trust, you can do your part to help the environment. When you do so, your name and pledge will appear on the myearthdream car and eventually form part of the livery for the real Honda Racing F1 Team race car.”
So head on over and check it out. What F1 fan wouldn’t want to see their name on an F1 car, even if it its microscopically small.
Very Very Small.

Toro Rosso has confirmed that American driver Scott Speed will retain his seat with them for the 2007 season.
Scott got some laps in the car during testing in Bahrain on Saturday but he was the slowest of all 16 drivers there. Toro Rosso says that their three days of testing have been productive but they still have a lot to work out with the car before the first race barely three weeks away.

There is much talk about the new Honda F1 car being unveiled with it’s new livery on Monday. The rumor is that it will be all green with no sponsor logos at all.
Honda claims the idea is the brainchild of Simon Fuller and is meant to showcase Honda’s concern for green issues. Most people seem to think that it is really an indication that Honda has failed to find a replacement for their old sponsor Lucky Strike.

There are also some indications that the green colors will include images from Google Earth. Perhaps Google is looking at becoming an F1 sponsor?
I can’t wait to see what shows up on Monday.

For the 2007 Formula One season Bridgestone will be making only 4 tire compounds for dry weather. These tires will be designated as “Hard”, “Medium”, “Soft” and “Super Soft”.

For each race two of these compounds will be selected and each team will be required to run at least one set from each of the two different compounds during the course of the actual race.
It would also appear that the pretty red stripe that was proposed to indicate the softer compound tire will not be happening this season as too many of the teams were concerned it would give away their tire strategy to their competitors which could put them at a disadvantage.
I kinda wanted to see the pretty red stripes because as everyone knows, stripes on things make them go faster!!!
Just about 3 weeks to go now until the first race …
