The Ferrari F2007, the new car for the 2007 season is boasting a fancy new quick shift gear box that is supposed to reduce the speed lost with each gear change. They claim it works in all conditions and for all shifts.

Sounds to me like something that will either give them a slight edge or fail miserably due to reliability problems.

This is what I love about F1 though, having the teams push the technology to the limit. I wasn’t aware that the already amazing semi-auto gearboxes on F1 cars were too slow in their shifts but I guess every split second helps.
