Bridgestone Red Tire Rule for 2007

January 15th, 2007

Recent reports are saying that all the teams have agreed to the ‘Red Tire’ rule for the 2007 Season.

What this means is that there will be two compounds at each race and the teams will be required to run both at some point of the race. Additionally the tires may be identified with a red stripe so the fans can see when their teams are running with the softer Red tire and is hoped to provide another source of excitement to the sport.

It will certainly add another point to debate when it comes to the results of each race and how any particular teams use of the two compounds affected the outcome.

I think the red strips will look nice on the Ferrari. :-)
