I was hearing today that some people think now that Michael Schumacher has retired there will be a massive loss of interest in F1. I’m not sure I agree with that. The claim is that with Michael gone people just won’t bother getting up early to watch a race.

I think this idea is complete crap. While it’s true there are a lot of Shumacher fans, most of them are also huge Ferrari fans too. I think they will be getting up to see the bright red cars run regardless of who is driving them.

I also think that most F1 fans will find new heros behind the wheel of a formula one car in no time.

Personally, I never really like Michael. Granted, he was a very talented driver but I just could not get behind his win at all costs attitude, no matter who he has to cheat to do it.

I think Formula one will be just fine without Micahel Schumacher.
