Max Mosley May Revoke Formula One Licence If Drivers Speak Out On Safety

December 21st, 2006

It appears that Max Mosley does not want the F1 drivers to speak out about their safety concerns. He has suggested that drivers who speak out or complain about track safety issues run the risk of having their licence revoked.

David Coulthard insists that the Grand Prix Drivers Association would not be intimidated by the FIA so you can bet he’ll be the first on the list when it comes time for Max to make an example of someone.

Personally I think that if the drivers have valid concerns about safety that the FIA is ignoring it is their responsibility to speak up. The idea that you could have your super licence pulled for expressing those concerns seems crazy to me.

Sebastian Bourdais May Hit Formula One in 2008

December 20th, 2006

It looks like Sebastian Bourdais has impressed Gerhard Berger with his performance during the last testing session. Bourdais was quickly up to speed and performing on par with the regular drivers according to Berger.

So it looks like Sebastian Bourdais may have a shot at a seat in F1 come 2008 thanks to performing well in the testing session.

It will be interesting to see this time next year if his name is still being mentioned as a potential F1 Driver.

Ron Dennis – Lewis Hamilton Pick Not Emotional

December 19th, 2006

Ron Dennis at McLaren is making it clear that picking Lewis Hamilton as their number 2 formula one driver was based on ability and was not an emotional decision.

I suspect it was very emotional for Lewis Hamilton though. Personally, I think he will be an excellent team mate for Alonso. I can’t wait for the season to get started so we can see how he does in the real world.

Person Of The Year IS YOU

December 18th, 2006

I know this has nothing to do with Formula One, but when I saw that Time magazine has picked “The Internet User” as the person of the year I nearly lost my lunch.

Seriously, was there no one they could find who did something worthy of the person of the year title in 2006?

Heck, give it to Alonso for winning the F1 championship if you have no one else to choose from.

I think Time Magazine has shown it no longer has any idea what it’s doing.

On the other hand, being an internet user I guess I can now list on my resume:
Person of the Year 2006 as awarded by Time magazine.

I wonder if it’ll get me a raise?
