The 2006 season has ended with a second world championship for Alonso. Congrats to the Spaniard for pulling it off! It will be interesting to see how his move to McLaren works out for him next year. If McLaren can put together a good car package I think Fernando has the skills to make it 3 in a row with some good fortune and a good car.

This season we also say goodbye to Michael Schumacher who, love him or hate him, has given much to the sport of Formula 1. From 2000 to 2004, Schumacher won five consecutive drivers’ titles with the Ferrari team which he joined in 1996. When he joined Ferrari the team had not won a championship for 15 years. Michael retires with 7 world championship titles in his pocket, many many fans who love him and more than one F1 driver glad to see him gone.

I can’t wait to see what next season is going to bring.
