New team to join MotoGP in 2011

The Karel Abraham Ducati MotoGP team will enter the sport in 2011 the team announced at Brno on Saturday. The team, owned by Karel Abraham, will see his son, Karel Abraham Junior, ride the team's Ducati in next year's MotoGP championship.

Calado wins wet race at Silverstone

James Calado made the best of the treacherous track conditions in a shower-hit 22nd round of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series at Silverstone this afternoon, to snatch victory from the clutches of championship leader Jean-Eric Vergne. Their Carlin team-mate Lucas Foresti was third to claim his maiden British F3 podium, and Mexican newcomer Juan Carlos Sistos triumphed in the National class for Motul Team West-Tec.

Rossi: injuries didn't get worse fortunately

In today's qualifying Valentino Rossi scared a few as the reigning champion lost the front end of his Yamaha, sliding off track. The Italian said he was fine though and was just mainly relieved his other injuries didn't get worse. Rossi will start Sunday's Grand Prix from fifth position.

Pedrosa glad to be back on pole

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa took his third pole position of the 2010 season in emphatic style today in a gripping and action packed qualifying session at Brno. With just two minutes to go, the 24-year-old Spaniard banged in a lap that was an impressive 0.338s clear of his nearest rival in a session that, up until that point, had been extremely close at the top.

Pedrosa fights off Spies in Brno qualifying

Dani Pedrosa will start the Cardion ab Grand Prix Czech Republic from pole position on Sunday after a fantastic qualifying effort at Brno. The Repsol Honda rider’s best lap of 1’56.508 delivered his third pole of the season and placed him just over three-tenths of a second clear at the top of the timesheet in a session that had a dramatic climax.

Vergne flies to pole al Silverstone

A stellar final flying lap from Cooper Tires British F3 International Series points leader Jean-Eric Vergne netted the Frenchman the best time in official qualifying at Silverstone this morning. Vergne’s Carlin-prepared Dallara-Volkswagen was the only machine to break the 1m 46s barrier on the Bridge Grand Prix circuit in tricky damp/drying conditions.

Dani Pedrosa was the fastest MotoGP rider in the second practice at Brno on Saturday morning, setting a best time of 1’57.201 as he prepared himself for an attempt at securing pole position in the afternoon qualifying session.

Dennis supports Villeneuve’s bid to enter F1

McLaren’s Ron Dennis has said it would be good for Formula 1 to see Jacques Villeneuve return to Formula 1 with his own team. The Canadian is hoping to enter Formula 1 with Durango in 2011.
