Brawn questions 13th team

Mercedes GP team boss Ross Brawn has questioned the need for 13 teams in Formula 1. According to the Briton it wouldn't be a disaster if a 13th team would not enter Formula 1 in 2011. The FIA is expected to announce a 13th entry around the end of this month.

Confusion surrounding Nakajima's drive-through penalty

Raikkonen Robertson driver Daisuke Nakajima received a ‘drive through penalty’ during Race 3 at Thruxton for apparently overtaking under yellow flags. Somewhat bizarrely the team was already aware that he had possibly been overtaken under yellow flag conditions by another competitor and was awaiting news on the timing screens when the penalty against Daisuke was handed down.

Valentino Rossi has said he is feeling a lot better ahead of this weekend's Czech Grand Prix. The Italian reigning MotoGP champion is looking forward to race at Brno, the track where Rossi scored his first of 104 Grand prix wins as a 125cc rider in 1996.

Carpenter returns to IndyCar series for three races

In partnership with Vision Racing and Panther Racing Ed Carpenter will return in the IndyCar series for three races. Carpenter is a six-year veteran of the IndyCar Series who first debuted in the league in 2003 before becoming Vision Racing's full-time driver at the team's inception in 2005. The 29-year-old Indianapolis resident will being his return to IndyCar competition at Chicagoland Speedway.

Bianchi hoping to return at Spa-Francorchamps

ART Grand Prix GP2 driver Jules Bianchi has said he hopes to be back as early as the Belgian Grand Prix following his heavy crash at the Hungaroring just over a week ago. The Frenchman fractured his second lumbar vertebra due to his crash with DAMS driver Ho-Pin Tung.
