After two victories in the Masters of Formula 3, Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) finally has scored his maiden race win in the Formula 3 Euro Series at the 2.3 kilometres long Norisring. The Finn, who was the best-placed rookie in last year's standings, was accompanied on the podium by Marco Wittmann (Signature) and Edoardo Mortara (Signature). After his seventh podium finish of the season, Mortara remains the points' leader.
For a few metres, António Félix da Costa (Motopark Academy) led the race, but then, Roberto Merhi (Mücke Motorsport) took over first place. Soon after that, the Spaniard was overtaken by Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix), who then led until the 21st lap. Valtteri Bottas overtook him and the Brit also failed to keep Wittmann and Mortara behind him. Eventually, Sims was classified fourth.
