Power leads Penske domination in qualifying

Team Penske earned its sixth consecutive pole position at Watkins Glen International and eighth in a row this season overall. That impressive statistic will mean little if one of its three drivers don’t come away with the victory in the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen.

Ricciardo dominates first Hungaroring race

Starting from pole position for the fifth time this year, Daniel Ricciardo (Tech 1 Racing) took his second win in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, having led the race from start to finish. The Australian driver catches up three points on Mikhail Aleshin (Carlin), second today. Sten Pentus (Fortec Motorsport) finished third, despite the incessant attacks of Brendon Hartley (Tech 1 Racing).

Jolyon Palmer took his fourth victory of the season with an assured performance in the opening race in the Algarve, the Briton leading from the start and negotiating a safety car period to eventually clinch victory by just over 2.5 seconds.

Mortara wins first race of the weekend

With his third victory of the season, Edoardo Mortara (Signature) extended his lead in the drivers' standings of the Formula 3 Euro Series. The Italian now has 16 points more than Marco Wittmann (Signature), who finished second in his home race at the 2.3 kilometres long Norisring in Nuremberg. Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) and Alexander Sims (ART Grand Prix) followed the Signature duo across the finish line.

Newey receives RB5 at Goodwood

On Friday Red Bull Racing presented Adrian Newey with an RB5 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The gift, which Adrian will drive at the event this weekend, was a sign of the team’s appreciation for what the talented aerodynamicist has contributed since joining Red Bull at the start of 2006.

Fifth pole for Ricciardo

He might not be leading the World Series by Renault championship but Daniel Ricciardo will once again start a race from pole position. The Red Bull supported driver claimed pole position at the Hungaroring with a best time of 1.33.168. Ricciardo was half a second ahead than championship leader Mikhail Aleshin. Hartley and Pentus will start from the second row later today.

Jenson Button's target for next weekend's British Grand Prix is very clear. The McLaren driver is hoping to win his home Grand Prix, something he was unable to do so far. Button was the championship leader in 2009 when Formula 1 travelled to Silverstone but was unable to win the race so far.
