Di Grassi to join Glock at Virgin?

Reports in the Brazilian media on Friday are stating that Lucas di Grassi has signed a Virgin Racing contract to drive alongside Germany's Timo Glock for the team's debut season next year. The outfit formerly known as Manor GP will be making its first official team presentation in London next Tuesday.

The FIA has revealed that retired Formula 1 drivers are to be included in the stewards' office in order to make decisions during Grands Prix from next season onwards. The move has been a desired one amongst many fans for years and is one of the first major changes to be made by Jean Todt since inheriting the role of FIA President from Max Mosley.

In the aftermath of an FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) meeting on Friday, the sport's governing body has confirmed the final calendar ahead of the 2010 World Championship season. In modifications to the original plan, Abu Dhabi will retain the final race slot as the Japanese and Korean Grands Prix move back by one week each.

Formula 1 governing body the FIA has confirmed that the new top ten scoring system will be in place from the 2010 season onwards. The scheme, which will award Grand Prix winners 25 points, also includes an increased margin of five points between first and second positions.
