Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen enjoyed a strong start of the season. Apart from a DNF in Australia the Finn finished second or first in the other races. His strong performanced earned him the lead in the championship standings. Although Raikkonen is convinced Ferrari will be strong in Turkey he won't sit back and relax.

The Scuderia Ferrari introduced a slotted nose at last week's Spanish Grand Prix. The team though has admitted it won't bring the new nose to Turkey as the track in Istanbul requires less downforce than the track near Barcelona.

The Renault team heads to Turkey with renewed confidence after improvements made to its car for the last round in Spain showed a significant impact.

The purpose-built anti-clockwise circuit on the outskirts of Istanbul offers a mix of challenging low and high-speed corners. Overtaking is difficult, especially in the first half of the lap, but the long back straight leading into the tight hairpin of Turn 12 offers the ideal opportunity for outbraking. Combine this with the challenge of Turn 8, which is one of the most demanding of the year, and you have all the ingredients for an exciting Grand Prix.

Fresh from its first top 10 finish at the last event in Spain, the Force India team has high hopes of sustaining this momentum for the remainder of the season. To improve, the team is targeting an improvement in qualifying.
