Honda enjoyed its best qualifying performance of the year at the Bahrain International Circuit today. Jenson Button achieved his target of a top 10 grid slot when he posted the 9th fastest lap, while his team-mate Rubens Barrichello will start tomorrow's 57-lap Bahrain Grand Prix from 12th position.

Robert Kubica was quickest in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix. It is the 38th Grand Prix for the team and the 25th for Kubica and both celebrate their first time at the front of the grid. Team mate, Nick Heidfeld, was sixth.
Having enjoyed relative competitiveness at the Sakhir circuit in the past, the Williams team was able to make a positive step forwards from its qualifying performance at the last race in Malaysia, although the team was only able to get one car through to Q3, leaving further room for improvement. Nico will start tomorrow's race from the fourth row of the grid, with Kazuki starting in sixteenth position.
McLaren Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen will start Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix from third and fifth positions respectively. In Saturday's qualifying, Lewis set a time of 1m33.292, less than two tenths of a second behind pole position. Heikki's time was 1m33.488.
