Lewis Hamilton won Sunday's opening race in Melbourne ahead of Nick Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg. A strong start of the season for the young Briton who says he will be able to perform better than last year and he could have performed even better in Melbourne than he did.
di Montezemolo: I have great faith in our team
Organisers of the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit are to wait and see how teams feel about the event becoming a night race from next year onwards. The idea comes amid increased pressure from F1 bosses to ensure that long-haul Grand Prix are still able to be screened at hospitable times, in the key European market.
Nelson Piquet jr. faced a difficult first Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. The rookie driver missed out for most of the first free practice session and his car failed on him during Sunday's Australian Grand Prix. Renault's Pay Symonds has said he is sure Piquet will be able to show a better performance in Malaysia.

Sepang organizers still pondering night race
Rosberg admits to night race concern
A purpose-built facility, Sepang's 5.543km lap provides a blend of medium and high speed corners interspersed with several slow speed sections and blisteringly fast straights. Such a dynamic track poses a particular challenge for the drivers and their engineers as a quick lap depends on a car with a well balanced set-up for the complex mix of corners, plenty of power for the quick straights and sufficient cooling capabilities to counterbalance the extremes of temperature and powerful humidity.
Kazuki Nakajima may have claimed three points on his F1 debut, but he was also slapped with a ten-place grid penalty after the Australian race for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix. Stewards decided to punish the rising Japanese star for his involvement in a shunt with BMW's Robert Kubica.
Fernando Alonso may have brought his Renault home in a stronger than expected fourth place at the Australian Grand Prix, but his engineering chief Pat Symonds believes that it will be another couple of races before we can see the true order of the teams this season.
Nico Rosberg may have scored his first F1 podium finish in the Australian Grand Prix, but the Williams Toyota driver is not counting on quite such an impressive result in this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.
After a very disappointing double retirement in the opening round of the season, Toyota is focused on a strong performance around the fast, sweeping curves of Sepang in what will be the 10th Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix.
