The Force India Formula One Team continued to make strong progress with its two new VJM01 cars on the second day of this week's three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya, Spain, covering almost 900km. Giancarlo Fisichella and Tonio Liuzzi once more recorded some competitive lap times, with Giancarlo securing the sixth quickest time of the day - just 0.03secs behind the fifth-placed Ferrari of Felipe Massa and less than 1.5secs from the fastest time of the day - with Tonio posting the 10th best time.

McLarens continue to set Barcelona pace

David Coulthard missed testing at Barcelona today after suffering a trapped nerve in his neck on Monday and on doctor's advice took time to recover. It was uncertain when the Scot would return to the cockpit and Red Bull drafted in Vettel from Toro Rosso for the day to cover his duty.

Toyota has this week brought two cars featuring its new aerodynamics package for the first time. So race drivers Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock both had busy days as the team collects data in preparation for the Australian Grand Prix on March 16. Both drivers did aero testing today along with work on brakes and set-up. Timo and Jarno will return to the track tomorrow hoping for similar conditions for the last full day of testing before Melbourne.

Renault remained at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona today to continue with its final week of pre-season testing. The day began with cloudy and cool conditions, but the sun came out in the afternoon allowing the team to continue with its preparations for the new season in ideal conditions.

McLaren's strong form at Barcelona continued on the penultimate day of pre-season testing as Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen finished comfortably clear of Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton was once again the fastest man at Circuit de Catalunya. The Briton completed, just like yesterday, the fastest lap of the day. He clocked his fastest time at 1.21.234, two tenths of a second faster than his team-mate Heikki Kovalainen.
